Oh, but if we take what you have put in bold too seriously, what will happen to 'prophetic' preaching?

I heard the late Dave Busby say that every preacher must stay aware of his own 'inner cesspool'. Judas Iscariot probably didn't think he had one.

I don't know; Iscariot's death by his own hand shows a strange desperation. Prophetic preaching, on the other hand, cannot come from the doubtful heart but, I think, has to come from the self-doubting heart.

Here am I, Lord, send me, comes after the pronouncement of unclean lips. Moses was fearful. Elijah hid in a cave.

I agree on the type of heart that it takes for true prophetic preaching. My attempt at humor (with the apostrophes) was with regard to the many who seem so certain of every little thing they condemn.

Once when I worked at a rental store while in seminary, a fellow came in to rent a tiller on a Saturday morning. He was quite upset that he would have to pay rent for the whole weekend, saying "I can't use it on Sunday, because I'm busy preaching the gospel to you sinners." When I pushed him on it, he declared, "I'm not a sinner; I'm a saint!" I found out later that week that his check bounced.

IMHO, there are a lot of Baptist ministers who have judged others loud and long, who have 'bounced checks' themselves.
